Atlas Terms of Service

Effective: August 1, 2026 · Last updated: August 1, 2026 · Stage: limited pilot

1. Agreement

By using Atlas at heyatlas.org you agree to these terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

2. What Atlas does, and what it does not

Atlas reads the tools you connect and produces briefs, meeting preparation, follow-up detection, search answers, and drafted messages.

Atlas prepares and drafts. You decide and approve. Atlas does not send messages, create records, or modify anything in your connected tools unless you individually approve that specific action. Atlas does not own outcomes, make decisions on your behalf, or act autonomously.

AI output can be wrong. Briefs, summaries, detected commitments, and drafts are generated by AI and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Review anything consequential before relying on it. Atlas is a tool for organizing your work, not a substitute for your judgment.

Atlas is not professional advice. Nothing Atlas produces is legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice.

3. Your account

You're responsible for your account credentials and for the activity under your account. Tell us promptly at security@heyatlas.org if you suspect unauthorized access.

Organization accounts: the organization owner controls membership, roles, and the organization's data. Personal accounts remain separate and private to you — see the Privacy Policy, Section 7.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the content Atlas accesses from your connected tools and to the content Atlas derives from it. You grant us only the licence necessary to operate the service for you: to access, process, store, and display that content, and to send it to our sub-processors as described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not use your content to train AI models.

5. Connected third-party services

Atlas connects to Google, Slack, Microsoft, and other services at your direction. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, not ours. We are not responsible for their availability, or for changes they make to their APIs or free tiers that affect Atlas functionality.

You are responsible for having the right to connect any account you connect — including having your employer's permission where that applies.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Atlas to break the law, infringe others' rights, access accounts you're not authorized to access, attempt to breach our security or tenant isolation, resell the service, or overwhelm the system with automated requests beyond documented limits.

7. Plans, billing, and credits

Atlas charges no fees during the pilot. There is no subscription, no card on file, and nothing to cancel. When paid plans launch we will publish full commercial terms and give existing users at least 30 days' notice before any charge.

Commitments we intend to hold when billing does ship:

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Atlas depends on third-party APIs that can fail, rate-limit, or change. Where a connector is failing, Atlas tells you rather than silently omitting the data.

No service level is promised during the pilot. Atlas runs on a best-effort basis. Do not use it as the only record of anything you cannot afford to lose — it reads your systems, it does not replace them.

9. Termination

You may stop using Atlas and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or that create legal or security risk. On termination, data deletion follows the Privacy Policy, Section 8.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Atlas is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Atlas summarises and organises information from systems you connect; it can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and you remain responsible for decisions you make. Nothing Atlas produces is legal, financial, tax, or professional advice.

Because Atlas charges no fees during the pilot, we do not accept liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the service.

Full warranty, liability, and indemnity terms will be published before Atlas charges for anything, and will be notified in advance under Section 11.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continuing to use Atlas after that means you accept them.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you and we each consent to that venue.

We would rather hear from you first: email legal@heyatlas.org and we will try to resolve it directly.
